Love Skye; I moved to the Isle of Skye 24 years ago with my husband and young family because, we wanted a better environment for our children. We had many trials and tribulations during our great adventure, but we survived! I intend to write about the great adventure in the future. The blog will post pages of wonderful days out on this wonderful island under the heading (out and about on Skye). We own Dunshee Bed and Breakfast and enjoy providing hospitality for people from all over the world. Love Nature: We are fortunate to have a croft and a wildflower meadow which runs along the banks of the river Roskhill .I named this Oran Uisge wildlife reserve- this means “song of water” in Gaelic. I love the natural world, which brings me great happiness and contentment. Living on Skye brings you closer to nature especially, the weather and wild landscapes. These inspire my art and poetry which, are my favourite pastimes. The blog will share excerpts of my poems, samples of my art and Warren’s fantastic photographs. The blog is a record of the flora and fauna I discover on the meadow during my daily visits and descriptions of the wild weather and dramatic landscapes. My intention is to try and bring the Skye experience into your home through, images, videos, descriptions, and poetry. I have a strong interest in nature conservation and hope to develop a wildlife pond this year. Love Life: I enjoy daily life, living on this beautiful island and working with local people and families. The blog will post pages, images and videos of conservation projects I am involved in. We have a 2.5-acre croft, next to the house and we are preparing for the polytunnel and chickens. The Lifestyle section will post pages on mindfulness, tranquil places and healing powers of nature.
