Today I enjoyed sitting on the rocks and watching the waves lap against the shore while, the gulls cried overhead. The distant isle inspired my poem

Distant Isle

Watching the waves gently move

And ripple with the tide.

Streaks of silver appear and fade

Creating lights in the aqua flow.

A sense of calm fills my world,

As the warm breeze caresses my skin.

A deep feeling of being at home in

This enchanting place.

Sheer contentment and bliss.

The grey distant isle with

Heather hues, calls across the

Sea. This deep yearning

Overwhelms my senses. I must

Follow this powerful lure.

Is it a call from the past,

Something I need or have lost?

This isle, a distant shore

Calls to me

I must follow.
